meet wednesday aka whaletran ꩜ .ᐟ

Wednesday Tran, known online as whaletran, is an illustrator and ceramic artist based in San Diego. Her work is inspired by childhood summers spent gardening with her grandfather, winter days exploring tide pools, and the curiosity that came from overcoming a fear of bugs to appreciate their tiny worlds. Those early memories continue to shape her art today, blending a love of nature with a sense of play and nostalgia.
Through both illustration and ceramics, Wednesday creates trinkets and accessories that feel personal, comforting, and full of character. Each piece is made with care and a touch of whimsy, meant to capture small, joyful moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. Whether she’s painting, sculpting, or experimenting with new forms of expression, her goal is simple: to make art that brings people a little bit of wonder and warmth.
